WEEKLY LATTE ART · PERFECT ROSETTA
Most rosettas go wrong before the pattern begins. Watch the full pour once, then use these five checkpoints on your next cup.
FIVE CHECKPOINTS FOR THE NEXT CUP
01 · Start the pour early
Begin the base while there is still room in the cup to develop the rosetta, rather than waiting until the cup is almost full.
02 · Remove unnecessary movement
Once the pour begins, keep each movement purposeful. Avoid extra repositioning that interrupts the pattern.
03 · Tilt, then gradually level
Begin with the cup tilted. As the cup fills, gradually bring it level so the pour can develop without a sudden change of angle.
04 · Build a clean canvas
Prepare an even surface before drawing. The rosetta begins after the canvas is ready, not before.
05 · Pause for two seconds
Stop for two seconds so the crema can stabilize, then continue into the pattern without adding extra movements.
MILK TEXTURE CUE
Treat 5–15 mm as a repeatable starting range. Keep everything else stable, then adjust one variable at a time.
MAKE THE CUE REPEATABLE
Start inside the range
Use approximately 5–15 mm of foam as your starting reference for the next practice pour.
Keep the setup consistent
Use the same milk dose, cup and steaming setup while you compare pours.
Change one variable
If the result is not right, adjust the aeration amount on the next attempt instead of changing the whole routine.
Watch the pour
Notice how readily the foam reaches the surface and how cleanly the leaves separate.
Repeat the closest result
When one attempt is cleaner, repeat that same texture before making another adjustment.
PRACTICE SEQUENCE
Do not diagnose five things at once. Make three pours, isolate one control in each, then repeat the cleanest result.
ONE VARIABLE PER POUR
Pour 01 · Start early
Keep your normal technique, but begin the rosetta base earlier than usual.
Pour 02 · Control the cup angle
Focus only on the gradual transition from a tilted cup to a level cup.
Pour 03 · Hold the pause
Build the canvas, count a full two seconds, then start the pattern.
Compare the three cups
Look at the canvas, the space used by the base and the separation of the leaves.
Repeat the strongest version
Keep the clearest result and repeat its timing before changing anything else.
Vortex handles steaming. EVO 2.0 handles the pour. The current five-piece set adds the three-piece Starter Kit.
VORTEX
